Hey y'all.
I've been in California for a week now and it's been a crazy roller coaster.
The day we got here our rooms weren't ready for us so we just decided to have rehearsal early and then relax. The rehearsal didn't go that fabulous. We all felt like we had been ran over by a bus. That night we all watched the show and chilled in the hot tub. Roosevelt Andersen (a contestant from the show) chilled with us in the hot tub. That was...interesting. That's all that needs to be said about that.
We had rehearsal all the time. We danced for seriously a week straight and would stop to eat and sleep, that's all. We would practice anywhere that would hold all of us. Sometimes it would even be in the B3 parking garage that we all like to call the dungeon. We've also had a lot of driving back and forth from CBS to Embassy. CBS is in LA and Embassy is about 25 minutes away in Glendale. The bus drivers are awesome. They love us and all wear their VIBE gear in secret.
Our "studio teachers" (tutors) are funny as well. We always teach them new dance moves. I love the CBS production team. They are the greatest.
I also love our producer Adam Neil. He is one of the coolest guys around! He cares about our group so much and does anything and everything to make sure we are happy. I love it!
Our number, "Umbrella" that we danced Wednesday night was put together in less than a week. We sort of had an idea of what we were doing when we got to California, but not really. We came up with something to show Paula and she ended up changing...everything..
We changed the dance and made "improvements" at 2am two days we before we danced. It was seriously a miracle what happened on that stage. It was clean and almost perfect. I felt so great about how I danced and about how the rest of the family danced. When Travis gave us a red star we were all bummed. It made us feel like we weren't good or something, but then we remembered that it was only ONE person's thought. We hope that we got America's vote. Even if we don't, it was still an amazing experience that changed my life. I'm so glad that I got to have this opportunity and I would never take it back or change it. I love my VIBE family. We are seriously (not to sound cocky) AMAZING. We are dope. We are the whole package.
It's weird that there is only one week left of this. We have been working on Live To Dance stuff since our try out in Utah back in August. It's been non stop since then. I feel like I have grown as a dancer. I've learned to work well under pressure and to pay attention to the little details. It's going to weird and not have to be ready to dance on national TV for a long time. My body is tired and my brain is fried, but it's all been worth it. I've met some of the coolest people on this trip. I've got to see how a live TV show works. I've learned SOO much.
Thanks to everyone that supported the VIBE and voted. Everyone at VIBE appreciates it soo much! Thanks for all the nice comments and uplifting words on the internet. All the positive feedback is amazing. All we wanted to do was to inspire people to get up and dance, and I know we've done just that.
Thanks Paula and Kellie and Rick and Alan and EVERYONE that helped give us this amazing experience.
