Grandpa, Grandpa Burr!

Wow, Grandpa gave us a complete scare this last week. Tuesday he insisted on going to the cabin alone. He was getting ready to come home and decided to get on a stool and mess with a light fixture in our garage. He lost his balance and fell off the 3 foot stool. He landed funny and ended up breaking his femur. He lied on the floor for almost 5 hours alone. Grandma was at home worried sick about why he hadn't came home yet. She called Uncle Bob and they both decided to head up there and see what was going on.
Every 20 minutes Grandma called Laci from the cell to see if Grandpa had returned. Laci was the messanger on the other end telling her he still hadn't arrived.
They went through the gate and onto the treck towards the cabin. Up in that area they lost cell phone service so we were stuck home worried and in the unknown. At 11:30 Aunt Joyce called me and said, "Grandpa is hurt, but ok. The ambulance is on it's way. Grandma is with Grandpa and Bob is meeting the paramedics."
After midnight Grandma called Laci with an update. He was taken to the Manti hospital for x-rays and then to be transported to Utah Valley Regional. The following night at 8:00 he was taken into surgery for metal plates and screws. He was quickly taking steps and did great.
Now Grandpa is at the Orem Rehabilitation Center. Same place Great Grandpa Pini went after breaking his hip and where Great Grandma Pini spent the last years of her life.
He told Mom and I he wanted to go somewhere that didn't smell! We found him a great place that has been highly reccommended! He will be there for the next while. Get Well SOON, Grandpa!
