kung hei fat choi

the HK was honestly one of the best experiences of my entire being.
i'll tell you all about it and then i'll add a picture over load at the bottom.
(ps. i'm copying a lot of this from k skous. love you girl.)
we left late thursday january 19, 2012 and arrived in Hong Kong early morning saturday 21, 2012
{15 hour flight from LAX + Hong Kong being 15 hours ahead of SLC = friday january 20, 2012 never exsisted in my life}
right after we landed we headed straight to rehearsal.
the next few days consisted of rehearsals, a tour of hong kong, shopping (stanley and lady's markets). bus rides, lunches, shows, dancing in the Chinese New Year Parade and more.
we got home thursday January 26, 2012 after a long flight home sitting next to kelso and peiter.
warrior and 127 hours are the only movies i watched on the flights.
i should have had a marathon.
time definitely didn't stop then. we went straight into rehearsals for our Move show which was 2 weekends ago and went surprisingly amazing.
the jet lag  kicked in sunday morning after the show when i didn't go to bed until 6 am and slept till 5:30 pm.
needless to say, the next couple of days were rather...rough.
PICTURE TIME:)

greetings.

hey all. i know i said i probably wouldn't blog again while i was here but, here i am.
i'll fill you in on my adventures.
tuesday:
laci and i headed to the SLC airport so we could fly into reno. my dad lives about 35 minutes away from reno in a town called minden.
i love flying...well actually, i like the airport more than the flying part.
people watching is one of my favorite things to do.
some people are just so.. bazar.

when we got to reno we had to go pick up my car.
{read post below}

i am seriously in love with it & so grateful my dad bought it for me.
i've wanted an audi ever since i was little and now i finally have one.
i've learned how to drive stick shift and i'm getting better day by day.
the first day or two was a little rough. i got frustrated with myself but i'm finally getting the hang of it and it's fun.
after we picked up the car dad and mary took us to dinner and then shopping at a little place called charming charlies.
everything in the store is color coated.
then we came back to dad's and just chilled for the night.
wednesday:
we headed into town to go school shopping at the outdoor mall.
the F21 here is AMAZING.
{better than the one in glendale where i shopped very frequently when i was on live to dance}
i got some cute vans from the vans store and lots of cool clothes.
we ate the best frozen yogurt ever from a place i believe was called freshberry.

that night mary, dad, laci, and i went to a very cool italian place down the road from their house.
thursday:
we woke up and went to target and staples to finish school shopping.
we also went to olive garden for lunch.
the rest of the day we spent at home taking naps.
dad made us burgers for dinner which were aMaZiNg.
laci and i went on a little drive.
we went to blockbuster and got a movie.
grown ups.
sooo funny. if you haven't seen it... watching it.
if you want a good laugh you'll love it.
one of my favorites for sure.
today:
we are going to head into town and go to hot august nights.
free concerts, cars, food & a night of fun i hope.
until then.
chao.

Day Nine.

Day 9 – A photo of the item you last purchased.
So since I've been home I haven't purchased a lot of stuff other than the necessaries
I'll show you my favorite thing I bought while in California.
These are my favorite shoes.
They were a cheap find too.
All my friends bought boots like these while we were out there for $100 at least.
Mine...$30.
LOVE.

black friday.

Yesterday after our Thanksgiving feast I convinced Mom that we should go shopping on Black Friday...at 3am. After a while she gave in. We went to bed and set our alarms for 2:30. First we went to Kohl's. It was sort of a mad house. It had just barley opened. The lines were worse than Disneyland and so, Mom and I left.
Then we went to Target. WOW is all I can say. The line was FOREVER long to get in. It didn't open until 4 and we were there at 3:50. Yeah, there was no way we were going to stand in the line, heck no.
Then we went to Walmart. There were a lot of lines inside because of all the people that wanted TVs and such but, for the most part, it wasn't too bad. We didn't have to wait in line for the cash register. In and out is how it went. We got a few things. Some leggings, picture frames, and new ornaments for the tree, which Mom is putting up right now. (pictures to come) Then we decided to go to IHOP. Ate some pancakes, hashbrowns, and hot chocolate. Super yummy.
Black Friday was surely an adventure

Someone pulled up in a UHAUL to Walmart. They were ready to shop.

random thoughts.

First let's start with shopping with Hunter. We went yesterday. It was soo fun. We are two funny girls. We would both get clothes, try them on, come out of the dressing room, show each other and then say if we liked the outfit or not. Too fun. Hunter and I both got a lot of really cute clothes for school. We are both soo excited to go to Orem High next year! It is going to be so much fun. We have 2 classes together, health and US history. Should be 2 fun classes.

Later that day I did some more shopping with Joslynn at Old Navy and Ross that was fun too.
So as some of you know Jeff got a new job meaning, no more Skip Dunn red truck sooo...my mom and Jeff finally bought themselves a new truck. It is a Chevy Avalanche. It is really super nice. It is raised off the ground a lot...I fall out like every time I get out of it. I'll get used to it. It's a beaut.

Speaking of my mother...she's a little crazy. A week or so ago I see my mom getting the mattress from the spare bedroom, (switch really isn't used as a spare bedroom.) She was bringing it out into a little loft thing we have upstairs. I asked her what she was doing and she said she was making Max, the dog, a bed. Max, a bed...he's a dog mom not a human. After trying to get her to put the mattress back into the bedroom...I lost and Mom made his a bed...It's purple. Laci and I are convinced Max is gay...I mean just look at this thing. Flowers.... :). It's like Max has his own little room. It has all of his "babies" and toys in a basket...He's a dog...
Till later...Erika

School to do list.

  1. Go school shopping with my best friend Hunter. We are going Monday.
  2. Get a manicure.
  3. Get a pedicure. (Hunter...we should do 2 & 3 after we are done school shopping. Are you down!?)
  4. Get my eye brows waxed.
  5. Buy John Mayer tickers. (if i don't go...I will ball my eyes out like a baby)
  6. Figure out if I classes with my besties Jake, Hunter, Kina, or Quinn.
  7. Pay my school fees. That's quite important.
  8. Get my eyelashes filled in by my lovely Aunt Melyssa.
  9. Buy a camera charger.
  10. Ride my bike back to my grandma's from Joslynn's.
  11. Get my learners permit.
  12. FINISH MY SUMMER LIST!
I still have soo many things to do and soo little time. Next week is summer list crunch time. Here's what I have left to do.
...
well it seems that the website that has everything I've done on it...isn't a website anymore.
I think I just might cry...

Enough with the sad stuff. Tonight i'm going to go somewhere very delicious for dinner. Actually I wouldn't know. I've never been there but all I have heard is good things about this place. It's called The Pie. It is in Salt Lake City right by Kingsberry Hall, like across the street and over a little bit. Laci, Mom, and I wanted to go there a few years ago when we went to go see Thriller but sadly it was full and the wait was freaking long...But now I get to go and I'm pumped. I'm going with Kaitlynn Acton and her brother Tyler and Star and Devin and some other cool fun people. It should be a party.
IT'S PIE TIME.

Another excited thing is Jake Boettcher comes home this Saturday. He has been in Washington for two stinkin' weeks and I've missed him dearly. He's a great friend. Wanna know one thing that makes him so great...? He likes Hot Rod....!! :) Hot Rod is the greatest movie ever. My friends and I could quote a good portion of that movie word for word. I decided that I would send Jake a Hot Rod quote of the day. Yesterday's quote was this...
Rod: You look pretty Denise.
Denise: What?
Rod: I said you look shizzy.
(but not shizzy...the real word :) haha)
Hot Rod = Greatest movie.
Well, Tata for now.

TOMS

I've been wanting a pair of TOMS for a long time. Hunter got a pair and then it just made me want them more so today after I went to lunch with Laci & Mom at Applebee's I went to Nordstrom and got a pair. I love them & here they are.

Thanksgiving(:

Happy Thanksgiving!!!
This year Laci and I went to the Lindsay's for dinner. Once they finished up we headed over to see how the Burr Family's feast had treated them. We caught up with all the girls.

Mom, Laci, and I headed up to the South Towne Mall for the crazy midnight shopping! Laci convinced my mom to butt the huge line and we got in with all the madness. We didn't score anything too great and had the most fun with the entertainment. The lines were crazy and the people were worse. It's fun, crazy, and all the above...but we enjoyed the scenery.
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving with their families and friends.

California-Day 8

Today Laci and I went to Monterey. We first went to a yummy mexican restaurant on Cannery Row with a beautiful ocean view from our window seat. Then we went to the Monterey Bay Aquairum. We had both been there before in the past but love it so much we had to go again.

After the aquairum we went and walked around the shops on Cannery Row. Laci got some gifts for Jade and I got a really cute purse from a India store. (Much like the Indian store in the mall at home.)

After shopping around we decided it was time to go home. Laci needed to get some gas for the car. As she was filling up she could smell some good pizza. We then decided we were eating pizza for dinner and yes it was very good! It was a really fun day!

Tomorrow Laci and I are going to drive to Minden and stay with Mary (Dad's girlfriend) for a night. I will be home Sunday!
